I have never been a fan of Barack Obama based upon his
deceptive campaign rhetoric, not to mention his general
economic philosophy which leans towards Marxism/Socialism. But now
that the election is over, Barack has a clean slate.
He could certainly end up becoming a great president. Who
Knows?
Just after
the election it became clear that one of his plans is to
mandate a draft for all citizens around the ages of 18 to 23
(They won't call it a draft. It is to be known as "civil
service".) I made a video that connected the dots between
Rahm Emanuel's book, "The Plan", and Obama's actual
platform. For some reason, the video has been getting
scores of hits in the last few days, re-invigorating my
interest in the issue. I'm not sure why it is suddenly
getting attention.
There are
many reasons why the revelation of Barack's plan is
concerning. First, it is clear that he tried to conceal
it. He referenced it late in his campaign in somewhat vague
terms. In the midst of a soaring speech, Barack briefly
suggested a "new civilian defense” that needs "just as much
funding" as our traditional defense organizations. Most
people just scratched their heads and chalked it up as
poorly written rhetoric that referred to our existing
forces. I am not aware of any news organization that
reported on the matter.
By
mentioning the idea in his campaign Barack satisfied a
couple of objectives. He concealed it enough so as to not
scare away his support of young adults, who seemed to flock
towards him in droves. He was also looking down the road
and pre-empting the criticism he might receive for
thrusting an unexpected radical idea upon America. By
vaguely broaching it in a speech, no one can say that we
were never warned. Barack was planting a seed.
The idea of
mandatory civil service is not new, though has been too
politically unpopular to gain traction. But perhaps times
are different, ripe with the loyal conformity needed for
such a drastic measure. As I write, thousands of people are
getting set for a pilgrimage to Washington D.C., donned
with "Change we can believe in" bumper stickers, eagerly
awaiting a chance to catch a glimpse of President Yeswecan
at his inauguration. How far would their allegiance
go?
This draft
plan might never even be raised again by Barack and
certainly won't be whispered before he is re-elected (after
all, power is the ultimate goal of liberalism.) But it
makes one wonder what is in store for America. The context
- the strange discipleship with a man who has
accomplished so little yet promised so much - has my spider
senses tingling. From the onset of the Obama phenomenon I
have described it with one word... "creepy".
Anyway, all
of this is to say that someone else has created a video
about the subject. It is much better than mine. He used
actual footage of the Obama youth. Check it out (left). |
